An APH review will be triggered if the farmer:
The farmer must provide production records supporting reported yields for the required years. If the farmer reported a claim for any of those years, the claim information can be used for the review.
If the farmer did not report a claim, they must provide total production with other records from that year. Traditionally, these records may include bin measurements, elevator receipts, weight tickets, feed records, and more. This can be extremely time consuming and may not always be accurate.
If a farmer is using Precision Crop Insurance Solutions for either reporting or claims, they are already gathering accurate information to provide total production numbers for that year.
Precision Solutions require a seeding map, calibration records, and a harvest wet-weight map (pictured). These documents can be used for an APH review, and can easily be pulled from their FMS or take up less storage space than traditional records. Farmers can also utilize the maps for associating production on a unit basis.
"Reviews tend to happen when a farmer is busy. Using precision for reviews simplifies the process a bunch - especially for farmers with a lot of livestock. This year, I processed an APH review using precision data, and I didn't need to spend nearly as much time with the insured because all the records were in one place!"
