Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to use precision ag data for both acreage and production reporting?

No. You can choose to only use precision data for either acreage or production reporting. When you choose to use Precision Solutions for both of these processes, you’ll benefit the most with a faster and more seamless experience across all your crop insurance processes. Plus, you can have confidence knowing your data is accurate, consistent, and complete.

Will FSA accept precision acres?

Yes. In fact, after you have reported your acres with Precision Solutions, your agent can generate a map-based report called an FSA Summary Report for you to take to the FSA to help certify planted and prevent plant acres on your FSA 578’s.

  • Did you know? If you’d still like to report to crop insurance and FSA separately, there are no FSA or RMA regulations requiring acres to match between the two.

How much of my data from my precision equipment is used for crop insurance?

While precision equipment captures a variety of agronomic data, FMH’s precision reporting process only uses the required data for insurance and government reporting, which is the same information that is manually reported today. This includes crop, plant date, and acres planted for acreage reporting, and wet-weight, moisture, harvest date, and acres harvested for production reporting.
