Agent Role In Precision Solutions

As a trusted adviser to your customer, you will guide them through how prepare and take the steps to report electronically and prepare for precision claims, all with the support of FMH’s expert team.

Reporting

After planting or harvest, the farmer electronically sends their acreage or production data from their Farm Management Software (FMS) to FMH systems – they don’t need to print paperwork or even leave their home office to report their acreage data!
Within minutes, the agent can start processing the data in FMH systems. The agent reviews and matches the data to the policy in the FMH system and is then able to generate an acreage or production report for a signature.
Agents can also use the precision data to generate a map-based report that can be used for certification at the FSA office.

Claims

When a farmer experiences a loss, they should contact their agent as soon as possible.
When submitting a Notice of Loss to FMH, agents can designate if the farmer uses precision ag equipment and if they use FMH Precision Solutions for reporting.
The FMH adjuster can use planting and harvest maps along with calibration records to adjust the loss – reducing the paperwork and time spent adjusting, so farmers can receive claim payments even faster.

Planting the Seed - January 2019

This time of year, agents may still be reporting 2018 production, while also focusing on 2019 crop insurance plans. Precision Solutions can help with both processes: agents can still use Automated Crop Reporting (ACR) to report 2018 production, and now is a great time for agents to set up Precision Solutions conversations with FMH Sales Managers and Precision Technology Specialists (PTS).

Still Time to Report 2018 Production via ACR

For agents interested in processing precision data using ACR, entering 2018 production reports may be just the right time to start. Agents can report production via ACR whether or not they reported acreage via ACR. These two reporting processes are separate from each other.

Agents have time to learn and ask questions because there is no fast deadline, unlike with acreage reporting.
Using ACR for production reporting creates a 'best practices' process. Agents can generate map books with unit and legal information, which significantly reduce adjusting time in the event of a loss (before the RMA loss reporting deadline), as well as any APH reviews.

A Plan for the 2019 Crop Year

Agents are meeting with farmers to prepare their 2019 crop insurance plans, which makes now a great time to have conversations about Precision Solutions. To assist agents, FMH Sales Managers may speak about Precision Solutions at farmer meetings, and Precision Technology Specialists can meet with agents and insureds to help them prepare for planting.
